I encourage including special items in your images to add layers of memories to your images. This could look like Grandma's quilt, photos of loved ones who couldn't be with us, your kiddos currents favorite toys or costumes, etc.
My 3 year old wears his Spiderman costume everywhere he can. While I wouldn't have him wear for an entire photoshoot, I would definitely use it as something for him to look forward to at the end of a photoshoot.
Think about fun way to incorporate loved items into your photoshoot (even the less aesthetic ones) These can help add a little extra snapshot of what life looks like right now, as well as honoring traditions and family heritage.
Are there any particular places or landmarks you'd like to incorporate into your photos?
*
This could be the location you choose for your photoshoot, or simple special places in your house.
When my son was 8, we lived in a tiny apartment that had a wall heater in the kitchen. Every morning, he'd stand in front of that heater while we talked and made breakfast. Now that he's 12 and we've moved out of that cozy little apartment, I'm not sure I'd remember those heater-side morning chats if it weren't for some photos of him wrapped up.
In the days leading up to your photos, keep an eye out for these everyday special spots that you want to remember!
Would you like to include film photography as part of your session?
Film photography can add a timeless, vintage feel to your images. If you’re interested, we can incorporate both digital and film photos into your session.
Yes, I’d like to include film photography.
No, I prefer digital only.
I’d like more information on film photography options.
Is there anything else you'd like me to know?
