A recent venture to the library had me browsing different art styles, where I stumbled upon a book on Flay Lay paintings. The style dates back all the way to 15th century BCE Egypt. They have been used to symbolize wealth, prosperity, religious beliefs as well as a way to make political commentary on class differences.

Much of the Still Life imagery that may be more familiar dates the 16th century. Food, tablescapes and floral arrangements have been popular subjects and many replications find their way into thrift stores, garage sales and beyond.

So where do modern mediums fit into this? Photography can transform this classic art style into fun, engaging, and nostalgic imagery. This can be used to display the culture of a brand as well as a fun way to share products.

There’s so many ways to incoporate this style into modern branding. If this is a service you may be interested in, let’s work together! The process is collaborative and fun!
